The Long Beach Water Department's Water Supply Portfolio may look completely different by the end of the decade due to mandatory reductions on the use of imported water, which is sure to affect the price of water throughout Southern California.

By 2015, the Long Beach Water Department will implement a portfolio made up of less imported water, more aggressive and widely used conservation programs, expanded reclaimed water distribution and use, implementation of multiple groundwater management projects like Conjunctive Use, and seawater desalination.
