Outreach

Long Beach Utilities droplet mascot giving cyclist a high five

Long Beach Utilities is proud to participate in events throughout the community. We love talking about conservation efforts, answering customer questions and, of course, handing out fun giveaways. If you’d like to have us at an upcoming event, please email WA-PublicAffairs@lbutilities.org.

Community engagement and outreach is integral to creating a culture of conservation within Long Beach.

You may send an email to WA-PublicAffairs@lbutilities.org with your requirements.

Education

Long Beach Utilities conservation theater in classroom

We partner with a variety of grade levels in our Long Beach Unified schools to educate the next generation about sustainability. Long Beach Utilities, in partnership with Long Beach Recycles, launched an environmental education program for K-8 students. The program supports students and their families by bringing energetic, science-based performances into local schools free of charge. Pre-recorded, theatrical videos provide lessons on water efficiency, natural gas efficiency and safety, and waste reduction throughout the Long Beach area, consistent with the city’s climate change action and adaptation initiatives to create a more sustainable, resilient, and climate-prepared community.
